Welcome to our studio and our 2023/2024 Dance Season. Please take a moment and review the studio policies:
Lobby: Our lobby is open for business but please be mindful that our dancers need to use that space. Our dancers come and go between classes and most keep dance bags in this area so we don't have enough room for a large group of parents in the lobby. For dismissal, we dismiss children at the second door (next to "Fishtails").
Dress Code - Students will not be allowed to take class unless they are dressed in the required dress code and their hair is pulled up. Hair must be in bun for all ballet classes. Water only - Water bottles with sport tops are permitted in all areas. This applies to dancers, siblings and parents. NO gum in the studio. Dancers who stay for multiple classes may bring snacks but must be able to clean up after themselves. No Peanuts or peanut butter please due to the large number of reported allergies. Never share food with other dancers. Restricted Areas - Only dancers are allowed in the studios and dressing area. Children are not permitted in the studios that are not in use. Discipline - Students are expected to be on their best behavior. This is critical to the learning process. If a student becomes disruptive to the class, they will be asked to sit and observe the class for the remainder of that time and you will be notified. No running in the studios. Illness - Please do not bring your children to the studio if they are showing signs of illness, fever (greater than 99.0 without having had Tylenol or Motrin), runny nose, cough, rash, etc. Please inform staff if there is a medical concern that we should be made aware of. In addition please advise of any allergies. Inclement Weather -In case of bad weather, including ice in the parking lot...the studio follows the Cape Henlopen School District for closings. The studio does not prorate for any closings. Feel free to make up any class in another class of the same or lower level, should a class be canceled. Please check the welcome page for any updates. Staff -Faculty and the class schedule are subject to change at any time. Attendance -Good attendance is imperative as absences can hold back an entire class. If your child misses class regularly, he or she may be transferred to a lower level class. In the event of absence, makeup classes are permitted; however, must be taken within two weeks of absence. Tuition is not prorated due to absences, vacations, or sports. Events -Please check the website for the calendar of events. Showcase -The Dance Showcase will take place in June. Costumes will be purchased in two installments (October 15 & January 15). Class Placement - Each child progresses differently regardless of age or experience. Mrs. Walker handles all class placements and it may take several classes in order to place a child. WE do not rush dance training which means we do not teach advanced steps or technique to children who have not accomplished the basics! By staying in the level most suitable to that students, he or she will progress more quickly and correctly and will have time to acquire the technique that they need. This can be frustrating for young dancers and we do recognize this. This type of training is what sets us apart from other local studios. Our goal is to help your child be the best dancer he or she can be, regardless of future ambitions. Gossip - Please do not participate in DANCE STUDIO GOSSIP. Remember that this business deals with children in a positive atmosphere. Gossip is harmful to our studio and our dancers. Thank you. Communication - Please feel free to discuss any comments, questions or concerns with Mrs. Walker or Mrs. Brower. Please do not go directly to your child’s teacher. They will tell you to discuss it with the front desk first. Leave us a message and we will get back to you promptly. We are always open to suggestions and feel free to do so. We are looking forward to an awesome 22nd season! |
